Therapeutic Enrichment: Therapeutic enrichment is at the heart of the care we provide to our patients.  It can decrease feelings or isolation and help our patients to have a more positive stay and experience at our facilities.  Volunteers work closely with our Recreational Therapy Department and may play games with patients, encourage attandance at activities and assist patients during the actitivty, assist patients or their family to document the patient's life history or healing esperience, or use electronic resources to allow patients to enjoy the therapeutic healing benefits of music from their preferred genre, under the guidance of a professional music therapist.

One-On-One Reading: If you have a love of books and stories, a genuine interest in offering children or adults quiet, literacy-realted healing time, and have strong communication skills in English or another language, please consider this volunteering opportunity.

Spa Services: Spa Service Volunteers may pamper our patients by assisting to dry and brush their hair, apply light makeup and by painting nails.  Volunteers may also replenish personal care itmes such as lotion and lip balm as needed.  We love volunteers who are licensed beauticians and estheticians for the great impact their service has on the self esteem of the individuals we care for.

Children's Education Services:  Our pediatric patients attend school as they are able.  Educational Services are taught at the hospital as part of the Davis County School District by an Early Education Professional.  Additionally, children who are able are encouraged to attend mainstream school environments with the support of a caregiver. Volunteers provide support to patients and their families under the direction of the Education Specialist.  Volunteers support on-site classroom activities and assist patients in reading and completing academic tasks provided by the student's community school or the hospital Educatoin Specialist.  Previous work experience and training in an education environment is preferred for volunteers in this area.
